About the 2025 I AM NALA Fellowship on Women in Peace & Security
The Nala Feminist Collective has officially opened applications for the 2025 I AM NALA Fellowship on Women in Peace & Security. This initiative seeks to empower young African women, particularly those who are refugees, internally displaced, or stateless, to actively participate in leadership, decision-making, and peacebuilding efforts across their regions.
Who Should Apply?
This fellowship is designed for young women aged 18 to 40 years who meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Leaders of women-led campaigns or groups.
- Members of a consortium or collective focusing on alliance-building.
- Young women actively involved in cross-conflict negotiations.
- Women currently holding political office.
Participating Countries
The fellowship will engage 30 young women from countries in The Great Lakes, the Sahel, and The Horn of Africa, including:
- Great Lakes Region: Burundi, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda.
- Sahel Region: Cameroon, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal.
- Horn of Africa: Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan.
Program Benefits
